Clothes racks installed at lift landing pose as potential fire hazards

STOMPer Mr Lee wonders if placing items such as clothing racks is allowed at the lift landing, as furthermore, such items pose as hazards should a fire occur. He also wonders what authorities are doing to counter such problems.

Said the STOMPer:

"I am Mr Lee staying in Choa Chu Kang Ave 5.

"I just wonder if it is legal to place clothing and install shoes racks outside our HDB front doors.

"Such items at the lift lobby can pose as fire hazards.:

"I have highlighted such instances to HDB but it was no use as home owners were either ignorant or could not be bothered as nothing was done to change the situation.

"Authorities should make it clear if such actions are legal or not."

for minor things,HDB tend to close one eye cos if they are to enforce all the rules, they will be no freedom even living in ur own home. And u don't want them to do that. But if any residence actions affects other residence in anyway which is within the by laws, they will act.

By law, it is not allowed. However, by left...most of the peoples stay at HDB, etc, keeps their shoes, racks, and others outside their unit or common corridor. This is a nation issue...I wonder HDB will really enforce the rule...
