Teenagers hog table at cafe despite family waiting for one nearby

STOMPer Stevie Suarez was appalled at how a group of teenagers can continue to hog a table at a cafe after they're done with their dtinks. His family, which had two sleeping babies in tow, was standing and waiting for an empty table.

STOMPer Stevie Suarez wrote:

“These kids are hogging the tables even though I am standing right in front of them with my wife n two sleeping babies!

“They just sit down there and remain oblivious to my family who are standing while waiting for an available table!”

The kids in the photo look cheapskate. Advice to stomper: Such places will always have cheapskate people hogging the seats, it is hard to avoid them. Cheapskate people are too cheapskate to know the meaning of "being considerate".

Sad comments. Alot of them sound like childish teenagers defending other childish teenagers. Obviously this goes beyond simply having a "right" to a seat. That kind of inflated sense of self entitlement is
just ridiculous. It comes down to simple consideration for others. Even if that group of teens were expecting friends to show up, for them to hold the table at the expense of a family who needed it just then is terribly self centered. Does having children entitle you to a seat? No, but I suppose most teenagers have no conception of how difficult it is for parents with children, so to those kinds of kid's, their personal comfort is far more important. Poor upbringing...

For those of you who would have given up your seats, it's good to know that there can still be alittle compassion found out there. The world is that much better because of you.

What if their friends came late to join them and actually was queuing to by foods?! Common lah stop assuming things that you actually don't know whats is going on that particular day. I hope this guy will use his brain and think carefully before writing and playing with his camera! If his family has occupied a table, I doubt they will give up their seats!! This is one of my friend feedback that I would like to share> Ping Ping said: There are family friendly cafe and eateries in Singapore. If you're a good parent, don't you think you should plan where you're going for shopping or eating? Simply shows that you didn't do your homework and obviously not your brain!! With kids in prams and strollers, parents like you should go to places like Forum Galleria, United Square and Thomson Plaza. These places have cafe, eateries and even toilets for your babies. So stop your nonsense lah you stomp-abuser!!!

This is the problem of Singapore not being a gracious society. Please start thinking of others and not your 'rights'. I would not even consider them rights.

Darren11ray: It's first come first serve. The family needs the seat more than them. If their friends haven't arrived, that just too bad. They should give up their seats. By the way, I am a teen myself and I totally disagree with those teens' foolish and selfish behaviour.

This is totally uncalled for!! These teens were probably waiting for their friends to join them to have a meal too!! Just because you have babies in tow and impatient, doesn't give you the right to let out your frustrations at these innocent teens!! Why don't you show your face as the one posting this feature story!! These teens too have their freedom of choice where they want to chill and they certainly are paying customers. Next time, be a man and ask if you could have the seat, rather than being a coward and complain behind other people's back!!
