STOMPer Khine was worried for the safety of everyone when he saw a Batam baggage screener playing a computer game on a laptop, letting baggage pass through the screener without checking.
The STOMPer wrote:
"On Dec 26, 7.20pm, an officer at the Batam Centre Ferry Terminal was sitting at the security baggage X-ray check counter and playing a computer game.
"The baggage kept on moving along the conveyor belt at the monitor screen, but he's concentrating only on his game on the laptop.
"Are we secure enough to take this boat? All the passengers' lives are in danger if someone had carried any explosive items to the boat.
"Anyway the crowd was rushing for their departure back home to Singapore and that counter had a long queue of people rushing to load and unload their bags through the baggage screener even though no one cares to check."
