The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) has advised an owner of two Huskies to relocate his dogs elsewhere with better living conditions after conducting an investigation.
The SPCA was acting in response to feedback from a STOMPer after she came across two huskies which were not properly looked after and were housed in poor conditions.
A spokesperson for the SPCA wrote:
“We refer to the posting 'So cruel: Huskies kept leashed in wet and dirty enclosure'.
“The SPCA shares the Stomper's concern in this matter and thank her for bringing this case to our attention.
“Our inspectors have investigated following the initial report lodged last Friday. The owner was advised that the living conditions for the Huskies are unacceptable.
"We will be visiting again today (Dec 21) to ensure that the owner relocates his dogs so that they have adequate shelter and their welfare is not compromised.
We will also be advising him to take his dogs for a veterinary check as soon as possible.
“The Stomper was informed yesterday of our visit and advice to the owner.”
Despite receiving an update of the situation from SPCA, STOMPer Chan Nair feels that more can be done
"The SPCA has called me to say that the owner will move the Huskies to another part of the field.
"The owner said that he is waiting for his new house and will move the huskies there.
"Does a owner neglect his dogs in such a situation -- wet, lonely and hardly any food or water?
"He could have send the huskies to a pet hotel so that they are taken care of.
"Please send the huskies to a loving home."
Don't talk like as if it is free.
