Customers would get 100 credits for $1 in a promotion at an amusement centre. 100 credits should then translate into 100 tickets during the promotional period, said STOMPer Patricia, who got only 20 tickets in return.
The normal non-promotional rate is $1 for 20 credits or tickets.
The STOMPer wrote:
“After spending $150 on the zombie and fishing arcade games at the Zone X branch in Ang Mo Kio Hub, we wanted to exchange our remaining credits for tickets.
“Our credits were in the 1000 and 7000 range for both games so we were expecting to receive that amount of tickets as that is the usual payout rate at other branches.
“To our surprise, the machine only issued 20% of our winnings.
“We asked a staff member for an explanation who told us that this is a policy made by management -- no other reasons or explanation were given.
“When I play at the Zone X branch in Downtown East, every remaining credit equates to a ticket though the cost was $1 for 20 credits.
“They should not put it as a promotion since the mathematics work out to be the same.
"The least they could do is to inform players of the 20% payout."
