Many areas islandwide were also affected yesterday by floods which resulted from the heavy downpour in the afternoon.

"Heavy rain brings down tree.
"It crushed a taxi in Tiong Bahru.
"This happened on Saturday 12 November 2011 at around 8pm.
"Luckily nobody was injured.
"I just heard a loud noise and saw the tree across the street and the red taxi.
"The ambulance and fire brigade arrived immediately.
"It took a while to remove the tree from the street.

Kudos to the residents helping to divert the traffic while SCDF was clearing the tree.
