Touching commercials may work for some products, but definitely not fried chicken, some STOMPers feel. They are commenting on a recent KFC commercial, which may have you reaching out for the tissue paper not to wipe your mouth, but to actually wipe away your tears.
STOMPer Saffy, who came across the video online, said:
"This is a local KFC commercial which has been in circulation recently and many have lambasted it for being weird and having 'no link' to its famous fried chicken.
"Looking at the amount of dislikes online where the video was posted, it seems like many others think so too.
"Personally I think it's pretty touching...but they're taking it too far."
Another STOMPer, Zerocool, who also saw the commercial, thought that it was too depressing to be associated with KFC.
He said:
"A touching commercial is not for every product, and I don't know what KFC was thinking doing this weird commercial about an old woman who left home because she thought her daughter-in-law was going to send her to a home.
"I've always associated KFC with being happy and cheery, not something depressing like this
"You're selling fried chicken, not a Hallmark card.
"KFC may mean well with the tagline 'Cherish life's precious moments', but seriously, who cares? Your target audience are hungry people, not some sob-junkie who badly needs a good cry."

I think it's nice... @oldwhite - I think this is actually quite creative and a nice approach by the Colonel.
But what exactly are Singapore chickens?
Most come into Spore from factory farms in Malaysia.
And btw, the Halal way of slaughtering is equally draconian. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halal
Halal - the prescribed method of slaughtering animals per Islamic law. This method of slaughtering animals consists of using a well sharpened knife to make a swift, deep incision that cuts the front of the throat, the carotid artery, wind pipe and jugular veins but leaves the spinal cord intact.
Since the spinal cord is intact, the animal does not die immediately but dies slowly bleeding to death.
Cannot believe HUMANS are doing this.
Please do yourself, the planet and animals a favor and GO VEG. Thanks.
