Lorry carrying cargo of cardboard boxes catches fire on expressway

STOMPer Gary saw a lorry on fire on the expressway, just before the Woodlands Avenue 2 exit. It was carrying many cardboard boxes, said the STOMPer.

Wrote Gary (Nov 5):

"Lorry engulfed in heavy smoke.

"A lorry full of cardboard boxes was in flames and was engulfed in heavy smoke just before the exit of Woodlands Avenue 2 towards the city.

"A fire engine arrived on site to put out the fire."

The funny thing was that after I was returning frm Punggol & pass by the accident site again... The fire truck used to put out the fire was being towed away... heat exhaustion??

Cardboard was not the caused of the fire, poor truck maintainence was the caused of the fire...
