Thailand is facing its worst flooding in decades. But even as water fills villages, temples, farms, and factories, some still find reason to smile.
According to news reports, heavy monsoon rains are causing mudslides and widespread flooding along Thailand's Mekong River.
The floods are expected to last another four to six weeks.
At least 281 people have been killed in Thailand, and about 8.2 million people in 60 of Thailand's 77 provinces have been affected by the flooding.
STOMPer Jiro says:
"Thailand is facing a major crisis, thanks to the floods.
"It's heartening to see, though, that life still goes on for some of the locals.
"Children play in the water, a shopkeeper peddles her wares while sitting on a float in her flooded shop, and a man enjoys a cigarette while sitting in water.
'I guess to survive the floods it helps if you can swim, but more importantly, to have a positive outlook."
