Teams of four turned up in force at the Ben & Jerry's ChunkFest event, held at the Promontory @ Marina Bay today. They were after the grand prize of a year's supply of ice-cream in an eating competition.
'Team Awesome Possum' beat nine other teams when faced with a sundae made of 20 ice-cream scoops, four bananas, three cookies, one brownie and lots of whipped cream and fudge.
Their time? A mere 1 minute 37 seconds.
For their speed-eating feat of the cold dairy dessert, the team won a year's supply of Vermonster or 1,040 scoops of Ben & Jerry's ice-cream.
Other happenings at the event included a FairBooth, where members of the public could show their support for a cause close to their heart.
One such cause was Project Harapan (hope in Bahasa Indonesia), an undertaking by students from River Valley High School who are working with Mercy Relief to gather donations to rebuild volcano-stricken villages in Magelang, Indonesia.
The event ran from 2pm to 10pm on Saturday, Oct 15, 2011, and saw a turnout of over 15,000 people.
