Fans of Japanese female idol group AKB48 are going crazy over an SBS bus. It's not just any bus, mind you -- the bus has a huge ad for the girl group's upcoming concert in Singapore in November.
AKB48 is named after the 48 members in the group, and 'Akihabara -- the area in Tokyo where the band's own theatre is located.
Their ad on SBS Service 111 are causing somewhat of a riot among their fans in Singapore.
STOMPer Ninetytwo spotted the bus on its route today and sent in some pictures:
"Recently there has been a craze over an SBS Transit bus in Singapore on Service 111 with overall advertisements featuring the ever-popular Japanese girl group AKB48.
"The bus registration number plate is SBS9247Y.
"I have attached some photos for AKB48 fans to see this bus on its daily service. Enjoy!"
Some of the comments on the local Facebook fan page are rather amusing.
One fan wrote: "Yeahhh!!! When I come back there I swear I will ride this over and over up to the last bus ride."
Another fan asked, "Who's the driver?
One fan even wondered if the bus is "gonna play AKB songs".
And if AKB48 has the biggest fan in Singapore, it could well be the one who said:
"CLEMENTI!? I'm going to go there CAMP!!!"
STOMPer WhatIsDith?, who shared the story, said:
"It's just advertising, but the comments of the fans on the page are quite amusing.
"The girl group is AKB48, consisting of 48 members.
"Some of them came to SG before, there's even a cafe set up here in their name."
