Real or not: 'Monk' begs for money at coffeeshop

A man dressed like a monk approached STOMPer CC at a cofeeshop and asked him for money. The STOMPer wonders if the man was allowed to ask for money at a coffee shop and if he was even a real monk.

The STOMPer elaborates:

"These pictures were taken this morning when I went for my breakfast at a kopitiam at Bukit Batok East Ave 4.

"I was enjoying my breakfast when I was approached by a man who was dressed like a monk in saffron robes.

"He was carrying an alms bowl and he asked me for a dollar. He spoke broken English with a heavy Thai accent.

"I told him that he should go to a temple for help instead of soliciting for money at a coffeeshop.

"He left and went to the next table to ask for money.

"Are these foreign 'monks' allowed to beg in coffeeshops?

"I am not sure if he is a real or a fake monk."

Monk is real or fake we do not know.
Anyone anywhere can ask around for donations. Its the same as asking for help.
You do not have to donate if u do not want to.
