Hospital ward closed to visitors because it's 'haunted', says nurse

When STOMPer Ghost-buster asked a nurse why visitors are not allowed to go to Ward 6 in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, she replied that it is because the ward is "haunted".

Said the STOMPer:

"Last week I visited a friend who was hospitalised in a ward in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

"When I entered the lift, I was surprised to see that the number 6 button was labelled 'No access'.

"I asked the nurse inside the lift why visitors are not allowed to go to Ward 6 and she curtly told me that 'it is haunted'.

"I do not know whether she meant it as a joke or if she was serious when she said that the ward is haunted."

The nurse is messing with you. Level 6 is the ICU / High dependency ward. There are two sets of lifts, one of which does not service Level 6 because of the building design.

Aiyo...In TTSH, every floor has two sets of lifts on both ends at the ward sides...If u take the lift which the stomper had taken, it does not go to to levels 3 and 6 becos level 3 where the lift shaft runs is actually the waiting area for families and visitors whose loves ones ar in the ICU.
The one on level 6 is a satelite pharmacy.bottomline is instead of having 2 lifts at level 3and 6 like the other floors, theres only one lift.

i just checked with a friend who works as a nurse at TTSH. she said it's the ICU level, and one side of the lifts are unable to go to that floor because it's a high dependency ward. please check your facts first before posting lame things like this. and the nurse was probably annoyed at your dumb question.

Pyjstein.. I agree wit u. Level 3 n level 6 are high dependency wards/ICU. Usually every level has 2 lift lobbies. The lifts access for these 2 levels are available on the other lifts lobby. Which u do not happen to take a ride up/down.
