Man sells library books on eBay -- complete with library tag
STOMPer PeterParker spotted what appeared to be books bearing a library tag put up for sale on eBay by a Singaporean. He wonders if the seller had acquired them legally or not.
The STOMPer commented:
"These books I found on eBay clearly bear the Library tag.
"Is this guy selling stolen books? Or is he simply reselling books picked up from a library clearance sale? If so, does the library really sell books with the tag still on?
"Either way, this looks like an 'interesting' way to make a quick buck from overseas customers.
"The seller has a large number of comic books all going for sale on eBay, and they appear to be selling for quite a bit of money."

What made you think I'm a Man anyways? Just cuz I like comics? Haha, take a chill pill bro, if you ASSUME, you'll make an Ass of U and Me..
And yeah, I did get them at the Expo Library Sale. And I just got off the phone with the NLB enquiry line, they said it's perfectly fine to sell it on eBay. If anyone is interested in them, please email me at StarSpangledBuyer@Gmail.com
I would ENCOURAGE EVERYONE to sell their unwanted stuff on eBay.com.sg because it's free (there's no 10% commission like on the US site) and you don't even need PayPal or Shipping if you're meeting people to hand over the goods. But mind you, the stuff that you post on the Singapore site doesn't appear on the US site, hence no international market.
Actually, if you're interested in learning more about eBay, you can email me as well...
Cheers

Although a few public-sector organizations have a diligent Corp Comms dept that trawls through the print & online media daily to seek company-relevant news for dissemination to senior mgt, many organization still lack such a practice.
If there’s an official response here, it is very likely that a Stomp reader (usually not the poster) had highlighted the issue to the relevant organization. But there aren’t no guarantees -- I've noticed that some organizations choose not to respond despite being aware -- probably 'cos they’ve no idea what to do, & prefer that the issue be quietly swept under the carpet.
"stomp staff should also advice the stomper to report to nlb directly"
Since this is a commercial world, Stomp/SPH definitely desires the web traffic & eyeballs. At most, Stomp editors would just add a footnote to certain posts that the relevant authority is being consulted for feedback.
