The town council will be treating the rodent infestation at Block 435 Clementi Avenue 3, which was reported by a STOMPer. They will also step up preventive measures at the site, and ask that residents help by disposing of their litter properly.

Said the West Coast Town Council spokesperson (Sep 1):

"We refer to the STOMP posting 'Rat Problem in Clementi' on 30 August 2011.

Our pest control contractor will be carrying out checks at the site as well as the surrounding areas to identify the source and to treat the rodent infestation.

"At the same time, our conservancy workers have been instructed to step up on cleaning works and refuse management.

"The Town Council will continue to monitor the situation closely.

"We would also like to appeal to our residents to dispose of their litter properly to minimise the availability of food source for rats.

"We thank the STOMPer for the feedback.
