Mail left unattended: Staff wanted to prevent it from getting wet, says SingPost

SingPost reminded the postwoman who left mail unattended about the importance of preserving mail security after the postwoman left the mail behind in an attempt to keep them dry while delivering the rest of the mail to a neighbouring block.

The reply was in response to STOMPer Desmond's complaint about finding a pushcart full of mail left unattended in a Serangoon Avenue 2 void deck for more than 10 minutes on Aug 23.

A spokesperson from SingPost said:

"We refer to STOMPer Desmond’s feedback, 'Security risk: Mail left unattended for more than 10 min'.

"Our neighbourhood postwoman explained that her priority was to prevent mail from getting wet as she was delivering mail to the neighbouring block which was undergoing washing at that time.

"As such, she did not bring all the mail with her to the neighbouring block.

"We have since reminded the said postwoman on the importance of preserving mail security and will be taking disciplinary action against her.

"We thank STOMPer Desmond for his feedback.

"For feedback on our mail delivery services, members of the public can visit us at www.singpost.com/contactus."

SinGPost is naive to believe the story of their contractor? Or SingPost is naive to think that people will believe this excuse? Sounds like story tt primary school kid came up with. People r more savvy nowadays. SingPost better pay yr staff better so tt they come up with better answers.

The most annoying thing is there's a mail box downstairs but sales flyers, brochures and distributors still slot those rubbish at our door gates at high rise floor.

Do you know that there is such a thing called rain cover or canvas sheet in the world? Singpost is so naive to believe what it was told.
