S'porean gamers get $180,000 for 3rd place win at world Dota 2 Championship

STOMPers Sebastian and dota2championship are proud of Scythe.sg, a group of Singaporean youths who clinched the third prize of US$150,000 (about S$180,000) in the recent Dota 2 International Championship, held in Germany.

Said STOMPer Sebastian:

"A group of Singaporean teenage gamers have done Singapore proud in the recent Dota 2 International Championships held by Valve and took 3rd place, with them winning a cash price of US$150,000!

"No one expected Singapore to make it this far in the tournament held by Valve but they did it and were among the BEST dota players in the whole world!

"Well Done Scythe.sg!"

STOMPer dota2championship also commented on the team's win:

"Singapore gets third place in Dota 2 International Championships.

"The Dota 2 International Championships started on Wednesday, and ended on Sunday (21/8/11).

"After five days of intense competition, having their expenses fully sponsored, Na'Vi, from the Ukraine emerged as the winners, taking home US$1 million.

"The runner-up was EHOME from China, which won US$250,000.

"Singapore came in third, beating all the other professional teams from around the globe, bringing home US$150,000!

"Congratulations Scythe.sg!"
