Global Smurfs Day fell on June 25 this year, and fans worldwide went all out in painting a town and themselves blue.
STOMPer BlueSky sent in videos of the celebration and said:
"Are those...blue people?
"No, you're not dreaming.
"I found two videos online about Global Smurfs Day, which was on June 25 this year.
"People painted themselves blue, and hundreds of them convened at Mexico City's Azteca Stadium to try to break a record.
"This also happened in 12 other countries on the same day, to break the record of Largest Number of Smurfs Assembled Across the Globe.
"In another video, fans painted a whole town blue to commemorate the day.
"It happened in the village of Júzcar, in the province of Malaga, Spain -- one of the famous White Towns of Andalusia, renowned for their characteristic whitewashed walls (now painted blue).
"I'm not a Smurfs fan, so if I see blue people, I might have thought they were out of the movie Avatar or something."
