Strange 'cloud' seen over Bukit Merah was actually caused by jet plane

STOMPer Jess says the strange 'cloud' seen by STOMPers today was actually a contrail from a jet plane.

Contrails, or vapour trail, are visible trails of condensed water vapour made by the exhaust of aircraft engines.

Two STOMPers had sent in photos of the sighting today, thinking that it was a strange cloud formation.

"The cloud-like white smoke seen today was caused by a jet plane. The smoke had lingered in the sky for a while, so people who didn't hear the plane would have perceived it as being a strange cloud formation.

"A few jet planes had been flying around since this afternoon, until the evening.

"They were spotted in the south-west of Singapore."
