Thai transsexual singing sensation coming to S'pore: "I'm not a weirdo"

Bell Nuntita became the hottest transgender star in Thailand and around the world when she wowed the judges in the Thailand Got Talent competition by singing in both male and female voices. In The New Paper report today (July 10), she makes it clear that she is not a "weirdo".

Bell, 27, will be in Singapore on July 19 for a one-night performance. This will be the first overseas trip for Bell, who got into the final of Thailand's Got Talent about two months ago.

Bell, whose real name is Nunrita Khampriranon, said:

"I'm really so excited! And I don't think this could have happened if not for the support from my fans in Singapore."

She makes it clear that being a transsexual does not make her a weirdo. She said:

"I've managed to prove that people like me (transsexuals) are not weirdos, that we should be judged by our talent and not our sexual orientation.

"I've realised my dream of reaching out to people with my voice. I've gained recognition by being just who I am.

"Most importantly, I've now earned the respect of the one man who means the world to me -- my father."
