Are you a budding singer looking for an opportunity to shine? If so, MMSing -- Singapore's first mobile phone talent contest -- is your ticket to the limelight.
Organised by STOMP to uncover local singing talent, MMSing offers a unique spin on regular singing contests -- participants record and submit their performances for the competition using their mobile phones. Showcased on STOMP, your video clips will be viewed and voted on by millions of Stomp's readers.
Up for grabs are $12,000 in prizes:
Category A (for contestants aged 15 and over)
1st Place: Apple Macbook Air laptop and a Canon FS100 Digital Video Camera
2nd Place: Sony Vaio laptop and a Canon Ixus 90 Digital Camera
3rd Place: Canon FS100 Digital Video Camera and a Nokia E71 mobile phone
Three runners-up from Category A will each receive a Samsung I900 Omnia smartphone.
Category B (for contestants under the age of 15)
1st Place: PlayStation Portable Slim and an iPod Touch 8GB
2nd Place: Canon Ixus 90 Digital Camera and an iPod Touch 8GB
3rd Place: Sony T2 Digital Camera and an iPod Touch 8GB
Three runners-up from Category B will be each receive a Sony T70 Digital Camera.
Top contestants in each category, as determined by a combination of public online voting and scoring by our panel of judges, will go on to compete before a live audience at the MMSing contest finals.
In addition to quality vocals, our judges will be looking for presentation and showmanship, as well as that special ‘X’ factor that sets gifted performers apart.
Send your clips to stomp@stomp.com.sg, and they will be uploaded on the MMSing website for all to watch and vote on. There is no limit to the number of clips you can send in, though do remember that quality counts over quantity, so be sure to send us your best work.
For iPhone users, the STOMP app is the easiest way to submit your entry. Record your performance with the built-in video camera and fire off the clip directly to STOMP on a data connection. You can get the iPhone app free of charge from the iTunes App Store.
