So dangerous: Kids climb parapet and jump down from second storey

STOMPer Bahaya was shocked when she read a report of a group of boys jumping down from the second storey of a flat in Hougang. These children are not older than 10 years old and they are engaging in such a dangerous activity, she said.

According to the report in Berita Harian today (June 3), a group of boys between eight to 10 years of age were seen jumping from the second storey of a block of flats in Hougang Avenue 5. Their friends watched from below as the boys jumped.

A photographer from the Malay language newspaper shouted at the boys from afar, but it seemed they did not hear him.

Bahaya shared her comments:

"What they were doing really shocked me. From the photos, they looked like they were going to fall or they were trying to mimic those stunt men.

"No one should do such dangerous things unless they are professionals or are training to be a stuntman and have a licenced professional trainer supervising them with all the safety equipment.

"The scariest thing is, these boys were just CHILDREN. They are so young and could be my son or kid brother.

"I cannot imagine if they fell -- wouldn't they suffer some broken bones or twisted limbs and scrapes at the least?

"I certainly think their parents should know about this!"

they stand a very good chance of suffering a prolapsed intervertebral disc from their "stunts"parkour requires a set of stringent discipline, training and technique, not something a 10 year old could possibly possess and jumping from the 3rd storey, a good 10+ metres is sheer exaggeration, jumping from the 3rd storey puts one's body at serious risk of injuries be it to their spinal column, intervertebral discs, musculature or endoskeleton, even parkour practitioners do not attempt such risky "stunts" needlessly
