Still dare to go to JB? One man shot in head, another dies mysteriously

STOMPer SGman is concerned about the numerous news reports of violence and deaths in Johor Bahru. In two recent cases, one man was shot dead at a Johor Bahru coffee shop while another, a Singaporean, mysteriously died after a nightclub outing there.

The STOMPer, who read both reports in The New Paper, wonders why many Singaporeans are still going to Johor, when danger seems to await you there.

He said:

"The reports of deaths and violence over there is quite disturbing. One man was found dead in a pool of blood at a JB coffee shop after he was shot in the head.

"Then in today's report in The New Paper, a Singaporean man was found dead in a JB mall after a night at a night club with his family."

In the first case, Mr Tan Song Wei, 28, died at the scene after he was shot in the head at point blank at pre-dawn.

Three masked men had approached Mr Tan at the coffee shop at 5.30am, and one of them fired two shots at his forehead, before they all fled in a waiting Proton car.

According to some newspaper reports, one of three was actually woman and that it was a contract hit.

In another case reported today in The New Paper, a Singaporean man who was spending a family night at a night club was found dead in a JB mall.

The man, Mr Luo Li Fu, 37, had taken his Ipoh-born wife, his 17-year-old son and his son's girlfriend to Plaza Sentosa, a Johor Bahru mall popular with Singaporeans.

He later vanished, and when his wife found him again, he was breathing but unconscious.

Efforts to revive him by both his family members and paramedics failed, and he was later pronounce dead.

Mr Luo had injuries to his left brow. He apparently carried about RM2,000 to 3,000 (S$820 to S$1,230) and two mobile phones initially, but was found with only one mobile phone and RM800.

His wife suspects that her husband was murdered.

She also said they were being eyed suspiciously by a group of men when they were in the night club.

However, Mr Luo was also suffering from high blood pressure, and it is still unclear if that had caused his death.

Added STOMPer SGman:

"With all these deaths in JB, I am seriously scared to go there now. There seems to be so much violence over there.

"The fact that they have guns over there is also quite terrifying."

This kind of hit is not the result of a random shootout; perhaps the deceased subject has some gang related activities. People with a firearm don't just shoot. This is maybe a deal gone wrong or a gang revenge backlash. JB or NY or Singapore this kind of incident can happen either using a firearm of a knife. So let's not say that if you go to JB you'll get shot; this is a total nonsense.

Aiyah, it's the same for most countries...avoid sleazy places and be humble and you'll be safe! The crime rate in Malaysia has been overblown by the Singapore media for some reason...anyway Singaporeans complain so much but still go there in droves!!! Hypocrites
