Another two beautiful local celebrities, former actress Sharon Au and singer Stefanie Sun, have joined the ranks of those who have foreign boyfriends and spouses.

STOMPer sgversusft wonders if local guys are losing local girls to the foreign competition.

Sharon Au revealed in an interview that her harrowing experience in Japan during the earthquake has made her rethink her priorities. She has decided that the marriage to her French beau of 3 years can wait.

On the other hand, Stefanie Sun and her Dutch partner of 4 years, Mr Nadim Van Der Ros, have registered their marriage with Singapore's Registry of Marriages (ROM). Sun was registered under her birth name, Sng Ee Tze.

"Another two gorgeous, successful SG women, have been 'taken' by guys from overseas.

"Local guys don't seem to be good enough for local girls, especially the celebrities.

"Of course you have exceptions like Fann Wong and Christopher Lee, and some others.

"But truth is, a local guy has to work harder than a foreign guy to win the affections of a local girl.

"SG guys are always being compared to foreign guys and complaints like 'SG guys are too shy and quiet', or 'SG guys have nothing interesting to say' keep popping up.

"How come it isn't the other way round? 'Foreign guys are too noisy and loud', 'Foreign guys have opinions on everything, even when it doesn't make sense'?

"Remember that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, no one race of men is perfect, or better than another.

"I think that local guys will be forced to improve themselves to remain competitive in this highly saturated market."
