Rescue officers were engaged in other emergencies when STOMPer F called for help to rescue his cat from a tree. SPCA had provided F with contacts of other agencies which could help, the agency says.
The sender had earlier expressed disappointment at SPCA's inability to send rescue personnel when his cat fell and got stuck in a five-storey tall palm tree.
SPCA also urges all pet owners to take extra care to prevent such incidents from occurring.
The organisation says in a statement:
"We refer to the posting 'Cat falls 10 storeys onto tree: We had to rescue it ourselves' and are glad that the cat has been reunited with its owner.
"The SPCA views all reports of animals in distress seriously and will do its best to attend to all calls as soon as possible.
"Our staff tried to explain to the owner that our Animal Rescue Officer was already attending to other emergencies at the time.
"We also referred him to two private contractors who had the necessary equipment (cherry picker)/expertise to help rescue his cat which was situated on a palm tree approximately five storeys high.
"By the time our staff arrived at the scene mid-afternoon, the cat had been rescued.
"We would like to take this opportunity to remind pet owners to take the necessary precautions to keep their pets safe".

Don't talk abt God if u don't believe in one. In any case ur just the same, without any conscious at all condemning pet owners who voiced out their unsatisfactory to SPCA. yes they don't own us any living but their claims is absurd claiming to save animals in distress.
Oh God pls make this justice blind as You are truly seeing what's happening and what's not.
And again, let's meet up n I show u what's the real story behind this and I have better proofs which can make u change ur mind towards ur pathetic non profit organization.
But hiding behind cyber worlds is just the thing for u obviously.
Even so, if u think I need to be at home during my working hours then ur pretty shallow thinking that I didn't do my research abt Bengal cats... I have this cat for more than a year now n this one off thing happened n SPCA doesn't deliver n I voiced out my unsatisfactory n u have so many things to say n cursed.. What an idiot u idiot!
Let's meet up n I'll show u what really happened if u r gamed for it.. Not unless ur coward hiding behind cyber worlds and words. This is not a threat it's just to prove n show u that there's more to it than meet the eyes. No offense.
