STOMPer ShockedStomper saw this creature, which looked like a Komodo dragon, swimming in the Chinese Garden lake at about 4pm yesterday (Dec 26). The STOMPer was concerned because Komodo dragons have been known to attack and eat humans.
Said the STOMPer:
"I wonder if this creature I saw swimming in the Chinese Garden lake is a Komodo dragon.
"And if it was, was it supposed to be there?
"I'm not sure, but I thought Komodos are dangerous?
"I hope the relevant authorities can look into this."
According to a research by the STOMP Team, Komodo dragons, an endangered species native to Komodo and a few other islands in eastern Indonesia, have been known to kill and eaten humans.
They are very powerful and can move quickly over short distances. Its poisonous saliva is said to contain about 80 types of bacteria, and it has shark-like teeth.
Komodo dragons are bred in the Singapore Zoo. The zoo is the proud owner of the first successfully hatched Komodo dragon bred in Asia, outside of native Indonesia.
