Horrified by the recent death of a Pomeranian that was brutally killed by a man at Sengkang, animal lovers and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) are offering a $3,400 reward for information on the abuser.

STOMPer Jackeline hopes that the reward would prompt witnesses to come forward with information that would lead to the arrest of the man who committed this cruel act.

Two weeks ago ( Aug 19), the New Paper and the Straits Times reported that a Pomeranian had been bashed to death by a man who left its bloodied body at the void deck of a HDB block in Sengkang.

Eyewitnesses said they had seen a man dragging the leashed dog into a nearby coffeshop and asking a hawker for a knife.

When his request was refused, he was seen going to the void deck and repeatedly hurling the dog against the wall.

A post-mortem conducted by the AVA showed that the animal suffered multiple skull fractures and severe brain haemorrhage.

The man, however, has yet to be found.

In a bid to identify and nab the culprit, the SPCA and a group of 11 animal lovers have pledged more than $3,400 as a reward.

SPCA executive officer Deirdre Moss said in a Straits Times report that the SPCA was desperate to get to the bottom of the matter and would work on any tip-offs.

In an email to STOMP, Jackeline said:

"Can you help the SPCA find the person who committed this cruel act?

"Kindly circulate amongst colleagues, friends and relations and help us so that we can bring the culprit to justice."
