148 Harley bikers ride to present $11,000 in donations to Johor orphans

A massive convoy of 148 Harley Davidson bikers and 10 cars recently travelled to Kota Tinggi, Johor to present 68 children at an orphanage with almost $11,000 in cash donations.

This is the first time such a large charity convoy has been formed to travel across the Causeway and it involved bikers of various nationalities from Harley Davidson enthusiast groups in Singapore and Malaysia.

The bikers, which included Australians and Americans, also broke fast with the children, aged between 10 and 17, at the orphanage.

STOMPer Carol wrote in her report:

"148 Harley Davidson bikers and 10 cars recently travelled to Kota Tinggi to present almost S$11,000 (RM24,000) in cash donation to 68 children at an orphanage.

"The group from Singapore and Malaysia, consisted of bikers and their families from various ethnic backgrounds, also joined the children in the breaking of the Ramadhan fast.

"The donation – also included contributions of clothes, toys, stationery, and board games – were part of a project to brighten up the children’s fasting month and add merriment to their preparation for the upcoming Eid celebration.

"Donations in kind and cash were collected from families and friends of organisers and the participants in Singapore over the past two weeks.

"The orphanage, Persatuan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Islam (PKAYI), warmly received the convoy with special performances by the children and a scrumptious spread of dinner that included Durians for desert.

"This project was initiated by Warpigs MC; with participation and contribution by Bandidos Singapore, Ghost Riders, Harley Owners Group Singapore Chapter, Independent MG, Iron Chariots MC, Kota Tinggi Bikers, Mad Dog MC, Militia Riders MC (Singapore & Malaysia), Motoheads MC (Malaysia), Silverhawk Singapore, Street Coyotes MC, and Zero MC."

agreed with jose_mourinho. overkill just to donate money to the poor. could have donated more if not for the trip, petrol etc etc.
