STOMPer Kelissa's favourite Miss S'pore World finalist is Marilyn Li (pictured above). The pageant comes under spotlight again as pageant organiser dismiss speculation of contestants "buying" their titles.
Disgraced beauty queen Ris Low reportedly spent $12,000 on full-page ads in the programme booklet and three tables at the Miss Singapore World finals in July last year.
Low went on to win the title but had to give up her crown after being criticised for her poor English diction and credit card fraud conviction.
In an effort to quash speculations, the organising company, ERM invited The New Paper to the pre-judging, usually a closed-door affair, which took place last Saturday (Aug 14).
The grand final will be held on Aug 21 at Hotel Intercontinental.

"Who is your favourite Miss S'pore World finalist? Mine is Marilyn Li, 21.
"She's my favourite cos she's the most presentable looking out of the finalists.
"The rest can't really make it. Some are pretty, but not international beauty contest material.
"Neither is Marilyn but I think she's the best out of the lot.
"Tania Lim looks like a man. Need i say more?"
