Even as he goes to jail, hit-and-run Romanian envoy says: "It's a simple misunderstanding"

The former Romanian diplomat, Silviu Ionescu, who is involved in a fatal hit-and-run case in Singapore last Dec 15, has said in another video that the case is a 'big misunderstanding and a simple one', and that he will prove it.

The 50-year-old was heard saying this in the latest video sent in by STOMPer pal pal.

The STOMPer had earlier sent in a video showing Ionescu in handcuffs leaving a Bucharest court, after it placed the 50-year-old under preventive arrest for 29 days on Saturday (May 8) in connection to the hit-and-run case, in which he is alleged to have knocked down three pedestrians on Dec 15 last year while driving a car belonging to the Romanian Embassy.

One victim died while the other two were injured.

Prosecutors said that Ionescu, who flew back to Romania after the accident, "has tried to influence witnesses' depositions and asked an employee to...erase data on his computer".

However, his lawyer, Maria Vasi, said that Ionescu merely asked the driver of the Romanian Embassy in Singapore to grant him access to the embassy's computer, where the records of the embassy car's movements were stored, to erase only personal information.

In the latest video sent in by STOMPer pal pal, Ionescu, in handcuffs, was heard saying:

"I believe the court is right, only that this is all a big misunderstanding and it's a simple one, we'll prove it on Monday's appeal."

He has repeatedly denied in front of prosecutors his presence in the car which was involved in the hit-and-run.

His lawyer Mrs Maria Vasi craps. How can she even suggest that Singapore staged the accident to force the dumb @ss diplomat to reveal intelligence? Singapore will definitely not sacrifice it's citizen for such. Take back your words b!tch.

focus6974 I agree with you too. People of his status who try to hide, still slightly understandable but still ought to be punish ...But A person who show no remorse and still have the cheek to give all sorts of bloody excuse really ought to be run over by a truck a 100 times. Jail is not enough for this kind of SOAB really

I think you can hire hitmen in Romania to take this scum of the street. He deserves to suffer the worse death possible and by the looks of it, it might be just that.
