Two STOMPers spotted this bridge at Marina Square that had been damaged by a lorry's crane last night (March 11). Apparently, the lorry's crane had not been fully lowered.

STOMPer Edd Kung said in an email:

"A lorry with a crane from the Downtown Line C905 site hit a pedestrian bridge that connected Marina Square to Suntec City at around 11.30pm."

According to another STOMPer Lionel Puah, "The lorry driver did not lower his crane fully and it hit the ceiling of the road outside the Marine Square car park entrance."

STOMP also made queries with the police.

According to the police, no one was injured.

Police investigations are ongoing.

The driver must be half way to lala land when he drove that truck... Anyway its was on ma watch that night when it happened.... No matter how gd or exp u r as a driver one single mistake that's it... I've been working @marina square for years this is the 1st time it happened.

This happened once every other year, whenever such drivers take for granted and didn't check the height of the crane properly, it will happened.

Then after each incident happened, it will pose as a reminder to the current batch of tall vehicle drivers... but after awhile, when people forgot about such incident, it will happen again to the next bridge.

The driver was working at night.according to his employer he has a good track record.Could have been a slip of the mind.

Surely speedily drive, else this damaged is soooooooooo long.. Not reported by some news that driver is slow. It is dame fast lor.
