Why you shouldn't talk on your phone while driving

STOMPer Cracker Queen came across these pictures on the Internet, showing the wreckage of an accident between a motorcycle and a car. The female driver of the car was apparently talking on her handphone just before the accident happened.

The STOMPer said:

The Volkswagen driver was apparently talking on her handphone as she pulled out from a side street, and failed to see the Honda rider, who was travelling at about 85 mph (137 km/h).

The rider crashed into the car because the driver did not have enough time to react.

The rider was found inside the car, which had two passengers. The Volkwagen flipped from the force of impact and landed 20 feet from where the collision occured.

All three people involved in the accident died instantly.

The wreckage was displayed at a motorcycle fair to promote road safety.

Woman the drivers are the worst drivers of all. Even a midget can drive better than a woman.

@stomped_liao And do your know car accidents mostly occur with females as the offensive drivers? Pay more attention to the road and you'll realize woman drivers drives a lot worse. They just aren't made for driving. Maybe they are unbelievably over-confident like you, who knows.

This tell us 2 things - 1) don't talk when you drive (to the driver) 2)don't speed when you cannot react and stop in time (to the rider or biker).

not to mention most singaporean are bad driver already, talking on the phone would further decrease the capability to perceive the traffic situation.. especially for male who scientifically has less ability to perform multi tasking compared to their female counterpart

Whether on the phone or not, there are just too many bad drivers on the road that cause this kind of accidents. Should not even get their licenses. Speed kills (driven by lousy drivers), but drive like a snail also cause accidents.
