Sophia Pang returned home today(Jan 15) after becoming the first Singaporean woman to ski to the South Pole.
To reach the South Pole, Sophia travelled 900 kilometres across the most hostile environment on Earth, endured temperatures of minus 40C, strong winds and blizzards.
Sophia was part of a team of seven women from six countries that reached the South Pole on 29th December 2009.
For 39 days, Sophia and her team members endured 24-hour daylight and intense solitude in a landscape with no plant or animal life - only snow, ice, rock and sky.
Sophia says she is proud to have represented Singapore in this once in a lifetime adventure.
She adds: "Now I want to share my experience with my fellow citizens and encourage other Singaporeans - especially women - to pursue their dreams."

my heart felt congrats and you make all Singaporeans and all the ladies out there proud!
