Watch these dramatic scenes of the Singapore floods, captured on video

Intense rainfall was reported all over the island yesterday (Nov 19), causing flooding over many low-lying areas. These two videos, taken at Jalan Jurong Kechil, were found online by a STOMPer, who sent them in to share.
Here's what the STOMPer wrote in an email:
"I found these videos of the severe flooding at Jalan Jurong Kechil on the internet, showing the extent of the flooding yesterday.
"The water was deeper than knee-height in some places.
"I think the videos were shot by tourists, as they are speaking in German. They were taken at about 1:00 pm
"Is there something seriously wrong with our drainage system?"

Din surprise me that this was a claimed "once in 50 year" event. The monsoon season just started, let's see if it happens again later this year whether someone will say it's a "One YEAR in 50 year" event!

Worst is coming. maybe the 2010 prediction is true?! Anyway, be thankful people here are not yet being airlifted to safety, unlike those caught in flash floods in other parts of the world!

I agree that it is not possible to plan for every event. But, surely it is not a 50 years cycle because the last time the basement carpark at Coronation Plaza got flooded was between 20 to 30 years ago. Again I maybe wrong

To be honest i cant belive this is happening in singapore our country is also a modern and advanced yet this kind of flood will bring shame to our country!! looks like its time to sack some of our minister and replace it with a fresh and more intelligent one!!
