It is rare to spot rare vintage cars, such as this Morris Minor, on the roads of Singapore. That is why STOMPer Vintager was excited to see this Minor parked outside the Arts House.
The car, also known as a Mosquito, was very popular back in the 1950's, he adds.
In an email, STOMPer Vintager says:
"This picture of a Morris Minor convertible was taken at The Arts House at the old Parliament building.
"It has a red and white body with a black top.
"Strictly speaking, a vintage car is one made in the period 1919-30.
"From 1943 onwards Sir Alec Issigonis was developing the car which later became the Minor and it was then called the Mosquito.
"By 1952, over a quarter of a million Minors had rolled off the production line.
"The engine has a meagre 803 cc and the Morris Minor was very popular from 1952-62."
