12-kg grouper is winning catch at S'pore's largest deep sea fishing competition
A whopping 12-kg grouper was the winning catch at Singapore's largest deep fishing competition held yesterday (Oct 17).
The Singapore Book of Records tells STOMP:
"Singapore Book of Records is pleased to announce that on 17 Oct 2009, 120 amateur fishermen went in 17 boats to the southern islands to compete for their biggest overnight catch.
"This is Singapore's largest competition of its kind to date.
"The winner is Richard Li who caught a whopping 12-kg grouper.
"The competition is organised by Waves Fishbyte, West Coast CCMC and West Coast - Ayer Rajah NC."

alamaknasilemak, largest refers to the largest deep sea compy in town not largest fish caught in Singapore. Who don't know the biggest catch here is non other than the 120+kg sting ray by Mr. Tay many many years back at Bedok Jetty.

Largest? Read last week's Shin Min Daily News.. A group of people caught a 100KG grouper fish!

Congrats 2 him. Fishing is a hobby i've done 4 so many yrs since my poly days. Juz me, my buddies, a few pizzas & foods...n juz talk abt anything. My saturdays r exclusively for washing car in e morn n fishing in e aftnoon till nx morn.
