There’s a "Little Seoul" in Pulau Ubin

STOMPer Mountain Biker spotted this bicycle rental shop in Pulau Ubin that had Korean signs erected all over, and said that the owner probably wants to attract Korean customers.

In an email to STOMP yesterday (Sept 8), the STOMPer said:

“These pictures were taken at a bicycle rental shop in Pulau Ubin.

“To attract Korean customers, the boss of this shop has chosen to put up a signboard in Korean so that they would know that he is interested in serving them.

“On weekends many Japanese and Koreans visit this island for cycling and dining at the popular seafood restaurants near the beach.

“According to South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, there are 13 509 Koreans living in Singapore this year.

“We find Koreans living in our HDB estate, Korean kids in our schools, Korean restaurants in Lor Kilat and Korean churches in various parts of Singapore.”

Wow, that's lovely! In hangeul, it is "Hanguk ineul Hwanyeong Habnida".

Talking about the number of Koreans living in Singapore, they at least are better and educated than the annoying pesky Chinese mainlanders who have flocked to our tiny land. I never liked them.

The signboard in Korean language says: Welcome Koreans.

AS long the Korean mafias and Japanese Samurais don't clash among one another at the pulau ubin or other islands here, i think just give them some space lah.
