Man auctions a lifetime's worth of computer games for $681,000

How much would you pay for 30 years' worth of electronic entertainment? A man from Italy recently tried selling his entire console gaming collection -- some 6,850 games in all.
Unfortunately, the hefty $681,000 (US$550,000) cost proved too great for even the most diehard of gamers, and the auction was closed without a single bid.
His collection is rather impressive though, featuring some very rare games from the dawn of video games, such as Burger Time and the entire Dragon Quest series, mostly in pristine condition, with original packaging in most cases.
No doubt his collection would be perfectly at home in a museum, rather than in the hands of a private collector.
