Maybe flat tenants can help to defray some of the cost? Spread the sum according to the 99-year lease? If nursing homes for the elderly would need to occupy the void deck of a HDB block in coming times, "recreational area" (or "personal space") can be relocated up by utilizing the rooftop. Put up a lap pool with basic showerhead (cubicles are not needed since everyone lives in that block) and nearby - a water fountain for kids and pets to play around with? Or taking a cue from the living environment in Japan and Hong Kong, set up a garden space to allow flat tenants to challenge their own 'green' skills by keeping the greenery alive under a volatile climate of Singapore? Or a small area where people can practise with their violins or guitars? And where pets can mingle? A place where all ages or religions don't matter. A place where everyone gets to understand each other more. A place where we learn to appreciate each other's difference.

I wouldn't live in a ceiling pool designed house. I could imagine one of those nights, a long hair woman ghost looking at you through those ceilings in the pool. I watch too much horror movies. :)

forget it la, singapore too small for all this thing, install solar panels wont be happening too, cause gov cant suck more money from us if they install it...

Give HDB another 20 years, I hope there's an increase in their creativity at coming up with HDB housing design. Allow options to owners to install lap pool and such, or install solar panels so that cost can be kept low for house owners.
