Taxi and motorcycle crash at Lentor Ave in the wee hours of the night

STOMPer Francis came across the aftermath of an accident at Yio Chu Kang that involved at taxi and a motorcycle around 2am this morning. The STOMPer also highlights the challenges that motorists face at night.

Said the STOMPer:

"This morning about 2am, I saw policemen recording this traffic accident that involved a taxi and a motorcyclist at Yio Chu Kang/the Lentor Avenue cross junction.

"Somebody from the crash must have been injured and called for this record taking.

"In my night driving, I had taken notes that many motorcyclists did not maintain their head/tail lights properly.

"Cyclists wearing dark clothing without lighting is another visibility problem to fast-moving motorists.

"Besides that, even moving vehicles without their headlights on at night are also on the rise.

"The traffic authorities should handle these kinds of irregularities seriously.

"Life is precious and we only live once.

"Why do these people choose to disavantage themselves?"

There are an increased number of drivers and riders who not not switch on headlights at night. Some think that our roads are well lighted at night and it is OK just to turn on parking lights is enough. It is not true as moving objects like vehicle or bike must be seen clearly as there are elderly poeple or people with night blindness. It is also good to install Number plates with reflective background as a back up.

@asiaroadwarrior your life is not worth more than those 'stupid' motorcyclists. Don't go pointing fingers or insulting others when you don't make sense.

@asiaroadwarrior. Why you want to mention motorcycles are hopeless. You think you are a very "SMART" driver?
