We can all learn from this man: Trishaw peddler's selfless donation to poor students

STOMPer Ash feels that we can all learn from this humble man, Bai Fang Li, a selfless trishaw peddler who donated his earnings to help poor students continue with their studies.

Ash, who sent in the photos, said:

"A lesson to be learnt."

Bai Fang Li was a trishaw peddler who donated a total of 350,000 yuan (S$70,000) to support needy children who were too poor to go to school.

For almost 20 years, to save up for his donations, Bai Fang Li worked hard operating his trishaw every day.

His devotion started in 1987 when he was 74 years old. In 2005, he passed away at the age of 93.

Many years back when i was on a donation drive, i was assigned to kallang airport area. i came across a house filled with cardboxes, stuff ppl throws away and hardly any space to walk. No one ans the door. when i reached to bottom of the blk, i met an old lady so i asked for donation, she brought me up to her house which was tat particular place, she went in and came out wif a $50. i told her no need so much, she say help ppl must give, take take! i was really touched when many well to do ppl simplly brushes me off like flies and iits ok if u dun feel like contributing but at least be nice..
