Poly student risks life by standing in middle of road during heated argument

STOMPer Alexandre witnessed two girls having a heated argument at Republic Polytechnic, during which one of the girls risked her life by standing in the middle of a road facing oncoming traffic.

The STOMPer wrote:

"It began at Woodlands bus interchange at roughly 8.00am. Two girls were seen screaming at one another while waiting for the bus to Republic Polytechnic.

"As soon as they reached the school, the girls began to tug at one another's hair and clothing which led to one of the girls attempting to kill herself by standing in the middle of the road facing oncoming traffic.

"The girl made her way back to the pavement where the other girl was and began choking her on the ground.

"I am not too sure what happened after as I left for class. However, several police officers were seen moments afterwards."

Heard that RP students are both indolent and insolent because of their background. Due to the daily grading system, these students will make hell for their facilitators if they don't get good grades. Is this true?

From my perspective of RP, innovative teaching method, great hands on concept. Awesome and top notch facilities (probably the best in Singapore). Student quality wise.. Hmm.. No offense but leaves a lot to be desired.

1) Pinoy said "I heard there are a lot of ITE students being accepted into Republic Poly. Especially Republic Poly." --- You "heard" but have proof? And what's wrong with ITE students? At least half of them are better and more skillful than bookworms who can memorize textbooks but don't know how to work their hands.

2) This story gets posted and suddenly it's "RP all negative stories, always RP, RP should close down, RP this RP that." --- STOMP never had stories on NP or SP or TP before is it? All positive is it?

3) All students from RP are bad? Ill-mannered? No discipline? All ITE, cannot study? RP lousy school? Cause of one person who do a silly thing and gets posted and hence everyone from RP is an idiot who cannot study and go to RP because unable to get into other polytechnics?

Maybe we chose to go RP because we learn and understand real life problems hands on, rather than memorize the correct answer to exam questions for 3 years.
