Miss China takes home Miss World 2012 title

Miss China was crowned crowned Miss World 2012 on Saturday (Aug 18), beating 115 other beautiful contestants to clinch the title.
This year's pageant was held at the futuristic Dongsheng stadium in the northeastern city of Ordos., and the mostly Chinese audience erupted in cheerts when the winner, Yu Wenxia, was announced.
When I was young I felt very lucky because so many people helped me and I hope in the future, I can help more children to feel lucky," said Yu.
The contest is watched annually by about a billion people around the globe.

If someone like Aishwarya was picked ,that would have been fair,even Miss India did a good job & Miss Indonesia too ,talking about Asian Contestants but China is pretty but compare her answer to the rest it doesn't stand out.Judges please open yopur ears to select the one with the Best sensible & practical answer.

I don'ty think Miss China deserve to be the winner as the finalits gave better answers than her & answere was in pale comparison to theirs & even her looks ,so don't know what the judges see in her.It's ok to have an Asian Winner but from the star at the scorechart she wasn't among the Top 10 so how did she suddenly come up to emerge among teh Top 7 seven finalists out of nowhere.

@princess11, I dun think I'm more qualified then the judges, however read my comment properly, I didn't say that she did deserve to win nor did I mention it shld be a 'Miss English' pegeant. I simply wondered that she can't speak a word of English nor can the stupid china interpreter do a good job. How is she a good role model and how is she gonna lead by example when majority of the world understand English as a universal language? Maybe why don't you go and be her interpreter?

Rougestan@ ok fine! Just simply say Miss World should be qualify only to girls that can speak English. And shld change the title call Miss English? Sounds better for you? Btw, who are you to judge, are you better than the judges? A

@princess11 nope there's nothing wrong in not knowing how to speak English except for the fact that she's gonna be Miss World and how is she gonna reach out to women everywhere and spread the message? The interpreter also speak screwed up English. It's Miss World for heaven's sake not "Miss China and some european countries" mind you
