India and Pakistan border closing ceremony draws huge crowds daily

This video which can be found online shows the flamboyant manner in which soldiers from both countries close the border between India and Pakistan every evening.

The Wagah border closing ceremony has been carried out every day by soldiers from the Indian Border Security Force and the Pakistan Rangers since 1959.

The parade includes many symbolic gestures, including exaggerated marching and acts of courtesy, and is known as the 'beating retreat ceremony' by neighbouring countries.

Crowds made up of both locals and tourists arrive every day to watch the spectacle unfold.

Considering the fact that these two countries have nuclear weapons, it is surprising to see a parade conducted with such theatrical elements rather than a formal military ceremony.

@karths16
I have watched the video and it is really hilarious. It is like watching 2 peacocks fighting it out to be the alpha peacock.

This is ridiculous. I request you to remove these photos and comments or it will be reported to respective High Commissions. Making fun of any countries army is not fun, its disrespect to peace directly. Hope my request will be considered.

Better don't ridicule other countries' tradition or customary ceremonies.
Will you like it if foreigners say Singapore NDP soldiers are nothing but just a bunch of glass wearing boys?
