Condos and careers can wait: Heed Lee Kuan Yew's advice and have more babies

STOMPer True Singaporean saw a young father holding two babies at Clementi Mall and felt that more young Singaporeans should heed former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew's advice to have more babies so that the country has enough citizens to form the majority.

Mr Lee had touched on the issue because he felt that the mindsets of young locals must change, and that migrants are needed as a temporary solution.

In his National Day speech to residents of Tanjong Pagar GRC, Mr Lee said, "If we go on like that, this place will fold up because there will be no original citizens left to form the majority.

"And we cannot have new citizens, new PRs settle our social ethos, our social spirit, our social norms.

"So, my message is a simple one. The answer is very difficult, but the problems, if we don't find the answers, are enormous."

In reference to those comments, STOMPer True Singaporean said:

"These two pictures were taken when I was at Ya Kun stall in Clementi Mall.

"I saw this young father holding on to two cute babies.

"Our political leaders have warned us that the Singaporean species is fast becoming an endangered species and if nothing is done, the Singaporean will eventually become extinct.

"I hope Stomp and the mainstream papers would continue to print pictures of happy babies and their cheerful parents.

"The message that is needed for young Singaporeans is this: 'Marry young and bring up a happy family. Babies will enhance the quality of your life'.

"Condos and careers can wait but not babies as your biological clock will tick away relentlessly if you choose to ignore the ageing of your womb and your procreating prowess."

You can only advice but not to dictate as once you did. A financially individual know where n when to place their eggs on which basket but what about the least do you think they have option. Think before you leap.

How to have children when you don't have the money to support them and a roof to shelter them?

whats the use of telling us the obvious problem without even taking time to dwell and deconstruct the various social and economic complications that obstructs us Singaporeans in having a family? again nonsense of the PAP, always TELLING the obvious, not even making any effort to offer solutions again. "not enuff babies to replace older generation? give birth to more lor" - even my toddler cousin can tell me this much.
