Investigation shows no dislodgement from KPE tunnel: LTA

The Land Transport Authority has responded to a STOMPer's feedback in STOMP about a steel bar that apparently fell from the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway, saying that investigations showed no dislodgement from the structure.

STOMPer Steve, who sent in the feedback to STOMP on Aug 11, said in his email:

"When I was on my way home, towards the end of KPE tunnel, suddenly a steel bar dropped from the cement ceiling.

"Luckily my years of driving saved me from a major accident in the tunnel!

"To all KPE tunnel users, please be extra careful when you're driving at the fast lane in any tunnel.

"Watch out as a steel bar might drop from the cement ceiling above."

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has since conducted an investigation into this matter, and have concluded that there was no dislodgement of items from the roof of the KPE tunnel, and that there is no danger of objects falling off the ceiling of the tunnel.

it's definitely no "act of god" thingy.. someone wIll be liable if this is being reported with concrete evidences that the steel bar fell from the ceiling, but as for watching out for falling objects, I think chances of hitting vehicles in front are much higher than being hit by it
