60-year-old Chua Kim King was reported to have been bashed by his neighbours on Monday (Aug 06) at Block 105, Teck Whye Lane, after a misnderstanding about a remark his wife had made.
It was reported that his wife, 58-year-old Tey Nai Hiang, said, "The dogs are barking very loudly", over the phone, and her neighbour who had been speaking loudly with the maid assumed that the remark was referring to her.
The neighbour, along with four males and a female, confronted Tey and her 23-year-old daughter Chua Choo Chin at their flat at about 9pm, prompting her to call the police and her husband.
However, when Chua Kim King and a female relative arrived there, he was surrounded by the group, who punched and kicked him while spewing vulgarities.
