STOMPer Richard reminded a woman that eating is not allowed on the bus, but she simply ignored him. The STOMPer wonders if eating should be legalised on buses, since commuters are still disobeying the No Eating rule.
The STOMPer said:
"Should we legalized eating on buses?
"Took this photo of a woman eating on the bus recently.
"Despite advising her that it is wrong to eat in the bus, she chose to ignore my advice totally.
"When I decided to take some photos, she thought I was in the wrong to remind her of the 'No eating' rule while onboard the bus.
"If eating on the bus is legalized, all of us can enjoy it too.
"What do you think?"
STOMPer Xiuying added:
"I think there is no use in fining Singaporeans. They still eat on the bus
"Why does the bus captain not see this?"

what you say is true but if it is allowed are you prepared to use a filthy bus, a dirty bus seat, cockroaches in the bus ..spit, etc.because thats what is going to happen...my son was told off by an mrt staff for drinking some water out of her water bottle ! , they know who to bully..probably didnt get her quota of complaints to hand it ...idiots!
Your logic is flawed as well. While its true that we can never stop all crime, authorities and bystanders will not turn a blind eye to people raping others or stealing things in plain sight. Yet most fellow commuters will not intervene whenever they see a person eating on the buses/ MRT. The difference here is the empowerment of the "authorities". Inconsiderate commuters eat and flout rules with impunity because they are not stopped or penalized. Bus drivers and conductors should be empowered to report such self centered commuters to relevant authorities to enforce rules which are obviously there for a reason rather than accept that "It may not be 100% effective but at least it stops our public transport from being a huge rubbish dump and embarrassing all of us"
If SMRT can't run the biz,let other do it period.
