A Korean actress, who is known for her sexy figure, was slammed by netizens after she tweeted insensitive comments about an overweight foreigner she saw at a diner.
Lee Chae-young has an enviable body that she has flaunted in a set of bikini photos as well as in a revealing dress at the Seoul Drama Awards in 2010. Not so enviable, however, were her tactless remarks about a large Caucasian woman she saw at a Denny's diner.
Lee took a picture of the Caucasian woman, who was clad in pink, and uploaded the photo to Twitter along with these comments: 'I was so tired and had been waiting to grab something to eat at Denny’s, because I can get there without driving. But there’s a scary pink shadow…'
She added: 'She looks a lot skinnier in the photo. Really. Should I leave this place without eating? It made me want to lose 10kg when I get back to Seoul. Sorry about taking photo in secret. Thanks for motivating me.’
Netizens slammed Lee, saying she was insensitive and thoughtless, and that her remarks were 'belittling about a women's figure'. Following the online protests, Lee removed her tweets and apologized.
