On Wednesday, Aug 1, the carcass of a 11.6-metre, 30-ton humpback whale washed up in an ocean pool north of Sydney, Australia.

According to a news report from China Daily/Asia News Network, the whale appears to have been dead for several days.

It appeared overnight in Newport beach's public baths as seas lashed Australia's east coast.

In the picture, the carcass of the whale is being inspected by a national parks ranger.
